Psalm 9:10 In the NIV version Psalm 9:10, says: ” Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.” The first half of that verse says Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD. If we were to submit to somebody, we have to have trust in that person. This verse is letting us know that we need to trust Jesus. Trusting Christ should be the easy part because he has given us no reason to not want to trust him or belief in him. Other versions of the verse Psalm 9:10 says if we trust him, he will not abandon us for. Christian standard version says, ” Those who know your name trust in you because you have not abandoned those who seek you, LORD.” In the bible there is an example in Genesis 24 of a person who acknowledged the Lord/trusted him and received perfect guidance. The person in Genesis 24 was Abraham’s servant and he was on a mission to find a good bride for Abraham’s son Isaac. He prayed to the Lord asking Him for help to find the right woman for Isaac. The Lord answered his prayer and Rebekah would soon become Isaac’s bride. This is an example of why we should have trust in Christ. Abraham’s servant would probably not have found Rebekah if he did not have trust in Christ. The second part of Psalm 9:10 says God has never forsaken those who seek Him. As the servant trusted in Jesus, Jesus did not forsake him just as he said. Overall, we need to have trust on God so he can make our path straight.
